Rock Off A Few Calories from All that Pumpkin Pie

We had a great Thanksgiving. Langley had a blast- she was completely well by the time we flew to Columbus. We had great fun staying with John and Julia- LOTS of toys for Langley to play with! Cousins to play with too. Todd and Nyla (and Abbey) had the dinner at their house and Jamie's Mom, his other brother Mike and my Mother, Father and Sister were there too.

Last Post on Halloween (I Think)

Hello,
I know, I know, enough with the Halloween already. But I wanted to share the pictures we have taken a few weeks ago. So here they are, well some of them. Anyway she now “gets” Halloween. She says “Halloween” and carries her “candy ghost basket” around all the time. One of her favorite books is still the Corduroy Halloween Lift-the-Flap book. She is also on a BIG “Pat the Bunny” kick- and has to have it read to her many, many times- and especially right before bed.
On another note- Langley has walking pneumonia. She was at the doctor yesterday and he prescribed amoxicillin. He gave her the all clear to go to day care today- and she did sleep better last night than she has in several. Although she still sounds like an old man who has smoked way too many cigarettes in his life when she coughs. Poor Thing. But even when she is sick she is cute.

And Now for Something Completely Different

For those of you who know me, us, our familties know we are hard core democrats. And while we are thrilled for all the victories yesterday we are especially happy for one of the Phillips' close family friends- Ted Strickland, the new governor of the wonderful state of Ohio! CONGRATS! We love you Ted.

Here is a quote Ted had in his office in the house:
“And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”—Micah 6:8

Which just goes to show there is a Christian Left- and there are lots of us.

Words

Before there are too many to get most of (because I am sure I am leaving some out) here are some of Langley's words. Not bad for being in a different country the first 13 months of her life.

Mama, Daddy, Papa, Mawmaw, Susan, Alder, Cat, Holly, Annie, Dave, Hannah, Allie, mouth, teeth, up, down, hand, book, nap, milk, quack, backpack, map, Pablo, Deiago, thank you, Langley, more, help, bath, no, apple, snail, oval, mail, home, rock, bye-bye, hello, night-night, hug, all done, clock, out, book, bunny, bubbles, banana, hand, I know, boo, hair, yogurt, dinner, woof, dog, Cheddar..... and the most popular of all "hot" which can mean anything she doesn't like or want. (It started in the summer when it was "hot" and icky- now if she puts her hand in a freezer at the grocery store and she doesn't like it that is "hot" too.)

This Is Halloween

I Can Do This By Myself

Scary Man Says- Want Some Candy Little Girl?

Trick-Or-Treat

So What is This?

Wrapper and All

Candy Free For All

Last night we headed over to Dave and Annie's. They had the perfect neighborhood for Trick-or-Treat. Holly and Dave's dad were there also. The girls looked GREAT! And by the end they figured out the concept- although I am not sure they really know what candy is (they wanted to eat it with the wrapper- then lost interest in eating it- and played in it, which was much more fun for them.) They were all so good and pretty much wore their costumes with no fits, but don't you try to put Langley's which hat on her- Watch Out.

Church

Just wanted to share this picture of Langley at church on Sunday. Love the sweater.

3 Ladybugs and a Witch

This weekend our entire tavel group got together- all five kids. We went to Frying Pan Park and then back to Dave and Annie's house (too bad Emily had a Birthday Party to attend so they didn't get to go to the house). The girls have all grown so much and keep getting cuter! It was so much fum seeing everyone- and we think the girls had a good time too.
